Allow Domain Admins to manage Spamtrap queue or Release tagged spam
A Domain Admin can see spam listed under the Public-Spam Trap from within WorldClient. Here the email can be tagged as Spam, forwarded, etc. but it cannot be Released.
Releasing legitimate email from the Spamfilter queue can only be performed by the Global Admin yet the Domain Admin can see all the spam - regardless of the domain - under the Public-Spam Trap.
At a minimum, if the Domain Admins can see the Public-Spam Trap under WorldClient then they should be able to see the Spamtrap Queue under Remote Administration.

Include Origin IP Address in Spam Trap and Bayesian Folder listings
It would / may be helpful to include the origin IP Address as a separate column when viewing spam and suspect spam in the Queues \ Spam Trap and Queues \ Bayesian contents. This would allow the email administrator to sort by IP Address as a "fingerprint" when investigating incidents.
4 votesHello Steve,
Thank you for submitting your idea to have the Origin IP address added to the Spam Trap and Bayesian folder listing when viewing the folders through the MDaemon GUI. It will be considered for future versions.

Add to Dynamic screen refused hosts
We have a lot of hosts on Security Settings > Screen Host.
For example we have .dotmailer.com, .pur?.net, .getrespooonse.com, .createsend.com and more. Basically all this big companies that pretend to send solicited bulk mail but all they do is send unsolicited bulk mail. Thanks to this entries we have reduces our incoming mail by 90%.
The problem is this companies have loads of hosts and they try and try and try to send emails even when you reply with a 550 after the HELO several times.
Since added all those hosts to Screen Host our number of SMTP sessions (in)…
3 votesHello David,
Thank you for sharing your idea with us. It will be considered for future versions.
One thing I would like to clarify though. Adding the IP addresses of connections that are blocked by host screening to the IP screening list won’t actually stop the incoming SMTP session. It will allow MDaemon to reject the connection more quickly, but all the resources needed to establish the connection are still used. Your suggestion would save MDaemon from having to do the PTR lookup on the IP address, if its enabled, and would cause connections to be logged in the screening log instead of in the inbound SMTP log.
Thanks again for your suggestion,

It would be nice to have support for Thunderbird's tags in Mdaemon's IMAP server.
Thunderbird writes its tags data in a .msf file if the IMAP server it is connected to does not support Thunderbird style tags; It would be nice if Mdaemon could support Thunderbird's tags.

Auto Black Listing feature of the sender IP and auto reporting to SPAM COP.
The problem with this is it is a manual process and not Automated and it should be. One big problem with MDaemon is your Black list feature only places the Domain address into the Black list. You are not providing a method of auto IP blocking.
Also if the server is used for Gateway SPAM filtering which is what we do for customers there is not a quick way to show all email and then display the messages as shown below. In order to see the…

Outlook Plug-in or Method to Send to SpamLearn and NonSpamLearn
Need an Outlook Plug-in or some easy method for users to send spam that has reached their inbox to send messages to the provided SpamLearn@ address. Likewise there needs to be an easy method to use the NonSpamLearn@. As another user posted, there is no option to flag these on the quaratine views. What is particularly disturbing is that there is no documented procedure for users to flag delivered messages as spam that I can see.

Thank you for providing your feedback and ideas. We will look into improving the ability to classify messages as spam or non spam for future versions.

Documents only
Since the Document-Feature could be very helpful as an alternative way of sharing files between user accounts, we would like to suggest making it possible to deactivate mail, calendar, notes and task for individual accounts. This would make it possible to (only) share files with certain users, without giving access to a fully working e-mail-account.

Clustering and SQL Server
Add support for clustering on SG, and also the ability to use SQL Server as a database. This will resolve the single-point-of-failure issue with the product, and hopefully help improve performance when dealing with a very large DB.

Security Gateway - sending statistics report with domain name included
Security Gateway sends statistics reports and only mentions the server name. If you have one domain to monitor then this is no issue. Monitoring multiple domains as administrator it would be nice to see which domain the report is about.
In my case, I monitor multiple domains but only have one administrator selected so I get a per domain report.
In this case you can see which domain needs attention most.2 votesHello,
Thank you for your suggestion. We will look into adding the domain name to the statistics reports for future versions of SecurityGateway.

Ability to batch import PST files into users mailboxes
Customers migrating from other Mail platforms often have a set of per user PST files they wish to migrate over to MDaemon. Currently the method of migrating this information involves each user setting up a new Outlook connector profile, Mounting the PST and moving the data over manually.
This works but is long winded for multiple users. It would be great if this migration could happen at the server. For example. you could have a migration tool that matches PST files (named to match MDaemon user accounts) and runs through the process of importing the data within the PST file…

Send on Behalf Of with Permission Management
Hello,
It would be nice to be able to manage the permissions for sending on behalf of.
Each user should be able to decide who can send on its behalf and who is not. With a management similar to that relating to permissions shared folders.
Now every user can send on behalf of everyone and in my opinion is not correct57 votesHello Alessandro,
Thanks you for sharing your idea. It will be considered for future versions of MDaemon. Currently, you can require users to send email using their email address by enabling the SMTP Authentication options for “Authentication is always required when mail is from local accounts” and “Authentication credentials must match those of the email sender”, however, with these options enabled there is not a way to allow one user to send on behalf of another user.

Content Filter - Compose group name from variable
When creating a content filter, it would be good to be able to compose the name of a group from variables. Currently, i can't e.g. use 'If the SENDER' is a member of "x1.$FILTERRULENAME$"... to declare a group based on the filtername (or other variable), which limits automation on certain occasions.
1 voteHello,
Thank you for the additional information. The first issue I see is that the content filter does not currently support searching multiple groups for the sender. If that were supported, you could use a rule similar to the following to archive messages being sent out by employees.
RuleName=Purchasing
Enable=Yes
ThisRuleCondition=Any
ProcessQueue=BOTH
Condition01=$SENDER$|group member|OR|CMP1Group|CMP2Group|CMP3Group
Action01=copy to dir|“e:\Archive\$DOMAIN\$MAILBOX$\Purchasing\”We will look into supporting the searching of multiple groups for future versions.
In the current version there are archiving options in MDaemon that may help, although, they may not provide the granularity you are looking for. The options can be found at Setup / Server Settings / Archiving.
If you would like further assistance configuring this please contact our support team. All of our support options can be found at www.altn.com/support.

Add Graphical Statistical Add-on for MDaemon
I wish there was an Add-on for MDaemon that can Analyze the MDaemon Logs & give Administrator, Statistical information about E-mails like:
- Number of E-mail from/to a Box/Domain or Domains .
- Size of E-mails from/to a Box/Domain or Domains .
- Information regarding to Protocols ( Imap/Smtp/Pop3 ) .
- Statistics about How a E-mail Box worked by Send/Rec. E-mails .
- Latest information about Time/Date of Users E-mails .
I think that, if Alt-n prepare this Add-on, it will be better than others 3'th Party Companies.
49 votesHello,
Reports have been added to MDaemon 13.6.0 for bandwidth usage, inbound vs. outbound messages, good vs. junk messages, inbound messages processed, top recipients by number of messages, top recipients by size, outbound messages processed, top spam sources, top recipients of spam, viruses blocked, and virus blocked by name.

Per user read/unread status
I have been testing MDaemon & other email server software in order to put them into production in our office.
MDaemon has two ways of sharing emails : Public folders & shared folders with their own ACLs. In public folders the flags can be either per user or shared flags with other users. If the flags are shared with other users, then the Read, Unread, Replied, Forwarded, etc. all status are shared with other users, this way one can know which emails have been replied or forwarded. However if the Public Folders are configured with Per User IMAP flag settings,…

Worldclient IM puts user online when user's desktop is locked and someone moves the mouse or touches the keyboard...
... like the cleaning lady.
What I would like to say: that should not happen. When the desktop is locked, the user is not there, and should not be online (unless he's using a remote session of course like when connected through RDP to the machine where WCIM runs on).
2 votesHello,
Thank you for your suggestion to not change the users IM status while the machine is locked. This will be considered for future versions.
