  1. Mail restriction based on IP address per account

It would be nice if we could restrict an individual email account to their specific ip address they are coming in on. That would eliminate their account from being hijacked when their password is compromised.

  2. authentication mail address + Turing test

The opportunity (optional) authentication mail address (sender) asking them to enter a code (Turing test) on a web page. This is radical, but requested by our customers.

  3. Add NFSv4 ACL to folders and folder items

Implement NFSv4 ACL on folders and folder items on the server and use full ACLs for WorldClient, and proper subsets for IMAP ACLs and OC ACL.

FOLDERS: this would simply require to change what MDaemon writes in HIWATER.MRK, section [Access Control], from current

    john@example.com=lrswipcda

    to something like the following

    john@example.com=rwxpDdaARWcCos:fd

FOLDER ITEMS: extend Imap.mrk record adding a bitmap for full NFSv4 ALC flags

    Hello,

I’m not sure if this will help you or not but you can configure WebAdmin to only allow global administrators to login from LAN IP addresses. To do this create a Group with all Global Administrators as members. Then create a template to apply to the group with the options for Enable web-administration access and “..but only from LAN IPs” enabled. With this template applied to all accounts that have Global Administration access they will only be able to login to WebAdmin when connecting from a LAN IP.

Thank you for sharing your idea to use a different port for administrator logins. It will be considered for future versions of WebAdmin.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  5. Sending emails to ComAgent contacts using (Right-Click -> Send Email)

Sending emails to ComAgent clients would be easier if necessary "right-click" menu was developed, which then it opened web-browser with "To" field filled.

  7. Add a macro to allow setting X-Priority header for urgent e-mails

Add a macro to allow setting X-Priority header for urgent e-mails, especially in the "Send a NOTE to" option in Content Filter.

  8. Contain Out of Office messages to internal addresses only

An option to contain Out of Office messages to internal email addresses that can be controlled at the server level would be beneficial for us. We would like to be able to select certain email accounts to not send OOO messages to outside email accounts but still be allowed to email externally. Having this option available by the client would be beneficial as well.

    Hello Jim,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us. It will be considered for future versions.

In the mean time, depending on your configurations there may be a way to do it using the AutoResponder Whitelist. For example, you could exclude messages with a X-MDSPF-Result header. If your mail server is only inserting this header into messages from non local users it would exclude those addresses from receiving the auto response message.

Another option would be to use the content filter rule to send messages back to people instead of using the autoresponders. The content filter can check the from address and only send the message if its a local user.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  10. Security Gateway - Two Factor Authentication

With MDamon there is a possibility to add two way auhtentication. It would be nice to add this feature to the Security Gateway software. According to MDaemon the level of security for Security Gateway is much lower.

  11. OC/WC : Add full support to task embedded elements (OLE)

Actually WC doesn't support task containing embedded elements or graphical element (bold, underline) like Outlook does, so when you use OC to sync, those elements are lost.

  12. More detailed ACLs on Mailboxes

It would be very comfortable and helpful, if ACLs on Mailboxes were more differentiated. Particulary a differentiation between mailbox owner and those who have additional access to that mailbox is important when it comes to critical operations like deleting a entries.

    Example:
If a user (e.g. secretary) has the rights to add and delete entries in a mailbox of his directors or colleague, he can not only delete the contacts and appointments which he added to this mailbox, but also the contacts and appointments which were maintained by the mailbox owner.

So for business use cases it would be a…

  13. Allow authentication against an LDAP directory without full integration

Allow MDaemon to authenticate users against an LDAP directory (by performing an LDAP bind, optionally using a proxy user first).

We don't want to and we can't let MDaemon write to our directory. Therefore it would be great if we created the user we could just say "for authentication go look at ldap server ldap.domain.com and try to authenticate there". The rest of the configuration is local in MDaemon. (We want to integrate with our LDAP, not assimilate it from MDaemon).

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us to allow MDaemon to authenticate to an LDAP database. If you’re LDAP database happens to be Active Directory you can already do this.

Your request to allow MDaemon to authenticate with other 3rd party LDAP databases will be considered for future versions.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  14. Examine Messages in Administrative Quarantine

Copy a message in Administrative Quarantine with a suspected virus to the administrator's mailbox so they can run various AV tools on it to make sure the message is safe to release to the end user.

    Hi Shane,

Thanks again for sharing your idea with us to allow potentially infected emails to be delivered to the administrator. While there are still concerns about releasing a potentially dangerous email to anyone, this is no more dangerous than the ability to release the message to the intended recipient. It will be considered for future versions.

    Thanks,

    Arron

  16. Automatic mailbox import

We need to import a lot of mailboxes (mail, calendar and contacts) from Lotus Notes 9.0.1 to MDaemon.

We want make it automatically because there are a lot of Mailboxes and it's not possible to do it manually.

Tools to import from other platforms will be very useful.

  17. Automatic accept appointment changes

is it possible to implement a function where a user automatically accepts the changes of an allready accpeted meeting while not automatically accept all new meetings.
In our case a person is invited and has allready accepted a meeting request. When something changes in the meeting he/she has to accept/decline the changes before seeing them in their calender.

Another solution could be a white list function where only meeting 'requests' and 'changes' from specified users are automatically accepted by the participants.

    Thanks

    Christian

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your idea with us to automatically accept meeting invite changes if the original invite has already been accepted. This will be considered for future versions.

The current version of MDaemon allows you to automatically accept invites from specified addresses. You can configure this by going to Accounts / Edit Account / Select the Account / Settings.

    Thanks,
    Arron

  18. Security Gateway - sending statistics report with domain name included

Security Gateway sends statistics reports and only mentions the server name. If you have one domain to monitor then this is no issue. Monitoring multiple domains as administrator it would be nice to see which domain the report is about.
In my case, I monitor multiple domains but only have one administrator selected so I get a per domain report.
In this case you can see which domain needs attention most.

  19. subscribe to ICS calendars on worldclient and public Calendars

I would like to be able to create a public calendar which is subscribed to an ICS source, this will allow all outlook connector & worldclient users to see this cal without the need to individually subscribe to the source on all clients, ie outlook, iphone calendar etc...

Also, if the above is not possible then the ability for worldclient to be able to add ICS subscribed calendars is a must !

  20. In WC, change the BlackList method for better security concerns.

The current method requires the user to open or preview an email, where some threats take place at time of open or preview.

Rather, demonstrate a right-click or menu button option that will display only the list of email accounts within the message to toggle the choice to BlackList any and all accounts within that one message in one sweep.

We follow a policy to never preview E-mail, and coupled with viewing Email's full contact information, we prevent many of the issues that threaten payload type threats. (too bad I can't add a screen capture of what I mean right…
