Download Bar Shows the currently processed file.
Currently when you install Outlook onto an new machine for a user that already has an account, the Download bar becomes very active as it downloads through Outlook Connector all the headers and information etc. Sometimes this process can get stuck on an email or Calendar file, but there is no way to know which item is causing the problem. If the Download Bar could display the current item which it's trying to download into Outlook, we might have a fighting chance to delete or inspect that file as to why it's causing everything to hang. Thanks!

Cache IMs when offline
IMs are not delivered when the user is offline. That is really retro. They should be cached for a certain amount of time and delivered to the user when they are back online.

Thanks you for sharing your idea to cache IMs when a user is offline. It will be considered for future versions.

attachment (sample) testing in a sandbox
lots of malware comes to us via email . it looks like bills and other things. in some and more and more cases a normal antivirus system is not able to catch them. so it is good idea to start these attachments in a sandbox to see what happened.

Allow Domain Admins to manage Spamtrap queue or Release tagged spam
A Domain Admin can see spam listed under the Public-Spam Trap from within WorldClient. Here the email can be tagged as Spam, forwarded, etc. but it cannot be Released.
Releasing legitimate email from the Spamfilter queue can only be performed by the Global Admin yet the Domain Admin can see all the spam - regardless of the domain - under the Public-Spam Trap.
At a minimum, if the Domain Admins can see the Public-Spam Trap under WorldClient then they should be able to see the Spamtrap Queue under Remote Administration.

the ability to Release needs to be allowed from…

Option/support to use memory, instead of disk; for anti-spam, Cfilter, and WorldClient
Under heavy volume (especially a 50% spam rate), CFilter and MSpamD's normal behavior may slow down drive access. Also, WebDaemon becomes erratic and unusable during periods of high volume: this partly from the fact it too uses the HDD for temporary files. The only option to alleviate any of this involves use of a RAMdrive: which I am currently testing, but pretty sure most admins would be uncomfortable with. Whatever can be done in memory, that would not compromise operations; should be supported by default. This would also help SSD users avoid unnecessary drive writes as well: since files/data that…
8 votesHello Michael,
Thank you for sharing your idea with us. Without knowing more about your setup I can’t say for sure but you may be able to improve performance by altering your configurations and/or optimizing the hardware that MDaemon uses. MDaemon is very I/O intensive but solid state drives are usually only necessary in very large installations. We have some recommended hardware specifications available by user size at http://www.altn.com/Products/MDaemon-Email-Server-Windows/System-Requirements/. Alternatively our technical support team would be happy to try to help optimize your server. If you are interested you can find all of our support options at http://www.altn.com/Support/. With all of that being said, thank you for your suggestion to optimize the message processing by making better use of the available RAM. We will consider this for future versions of MDaemon.

Backup during upgrade
During an upgrade, like to 14.0.1, the auto backup that runs during the install only backs up the App and Spamassassin folders.
However, depending on what is upgraded during the install of the new software, you may need other folders to roll back to the previous version, if an issue is found, such as Worldclient and Webadmin. Otherwise you need to either manually back these up prior to install or get them back from an alternative backup source.
Would it be possible to add this functionality to the system to ensure the ability to swiftly and cleanly roll back if…8 votesHello Pat,

Disable content filter, for user who are in whitelist
Hello
Could you make something for mdaemon that,
when a user is in the whitlist's antispam'' (sender/receipient) the content filter is disable for them.
Actually, we have had some words forbbiden to limit spam in content rules. Actually if sender is in whitelist and use forbidden word the mail goes to spam trap also.
We'd like for users in whitelist to and from, content rules are disable for them
thanks

Option to Drop Connection Immediately upon DNSBL or Blacklist IP Lookup Found
The IP Blacklist and DNSBL actions should have the option to drop the SMTP connection immediately after learning that the source IP is black listed. The reason to drop the connection immediately is to reduce the additional processing that is essentially wasted if the policy is to reject the email.
The Blacklist IPs and DNSBL should be examined ASAP after connection to minimize the time to decide to drop a listed connection. Dropping the listed connection ASAP reduces the chance of an SPAM or SMTP attack from overloading the SG.
7 votesHello Arnold,
I have verified with our developers that the tests are occurring after the RCPT command so that any domain exceptions that exist can be applied. We will consider having the tests occur earlier in the session when no domain exceptions exist for future versions of SecurityGateway.

Location Screening applied per mailbox
Location Screening is a fantastic tool, and I use it extensively. I have eighty mailbox users of which the majority never leaves the country, but I also have a handful of users who travel extensively around the world.
The problem arises when I have to unblock a specific country for a particular user. Suddenly all the mailboxes on my server is open to brute force authentication attacks from that particular country.
If I could apply Location Screening by means of a template, or security group, or even directly on a particular mailbox, it would mean that if I open a…7 votesHello Charl,
Thank you for sharing your idea with us to implement per user location screening. There are some challenges to implementing this as it will require that we allow authentication to begin before a connection can be blocked by location screening. Some users will not like this, so we have to find a way to block connections as efficiently as possible.
We will look into it for future versions.

Reduce false positive by looking at Whitelist for OP filtering
Sometimes we have cases where one recipient cant receive from one well-known sender as it is rejected by means of OP-Spam-Filter.
In order to reduce false positive, wouldn't it be logic to bypass OP-Spam-filtering for these sender who are into IMAP personal white list?

Make it easier to integrate with a company intranet.
We have successfully integrated worldclient with our company intranet, but the implementation is messy as it posts the users username and password to the worldclient login page and it's visible for their whole session in the address bar. We've developed a workaround with a temp password, but we shouldn't have had to. This should be a lot easier. Also why not let us frame worldclient? That would make it great for intranet use as we could add "email" to a tab in our intranet. Now wc tries to break out of frames always.
7 votesThank you for your idea submission. We are currently reviewing these with our development team to determine options. We do have concerns with integrating into frames, as it is a know security issue in various browsers.

ComAgent chat message folder in Mailbox to store all offline and online chat history
I want a folder in every users mailbox which will have all comagent chat history maintained in it for that particular user which he/she can use for official reference. Its the same feature which is used by Gmail & Yahoo in which we are able to view our offline as well as online chat history.

Dynamic Screening - Tracking the device who triggers the login failures
Dynamic Screening - Tracking the device who triggers the login failures.
It would be helpfull if a name from a device added to the log. So troubleshooting of logon failures would be much easier.7 votesHello,
Thank you for your suggestion to include client information. Can you provide additional details about what you would like to see added to the log? Which name would you like to see added to the log? Is this for a specific protocol or all protocols? Which log would you like the information added to?
Thanks,

Allow authentication against an LDAP directory without full integration
Allow MDaemon to authenticate users against an LDAP directory (by performing an LDAP bind, optionally using a proxy user first).
We don't want to and we can't let MDaemon write to our directory. Therefore it would be great if we created the user we could just say "for authentication go look at ldap server ldap.domain.com and try to authenticate there". The rest of the configuration is local in MDaemon. (We want to integrate with our LDAP, not assimilate it from MDaemon).
7 votesHello,
Thank you for sharing your idea with us to allow MDaemon to authenticate to an LDAP database. If you’re LDAP database happens to be Active Directory you can already do this.
Your request to allow MDaemon to authenticate with other 3rd party LDAP databases will be considered for future versions.

Split the SMTP (in) log in several files
The "SMTP (in) log" (and screen) is a very useful tool for debugging and/or checking when someone complaints an email is "missing".
However, due to the amount of useless traffic spammers and crackers generate it can be full of useless information.
I think that an option should be given to split the SMTP (in) in the following categories:
a) SMTP (in accepted): Only logs sessions where an email has been delivered
b) SMTP (in rejected): Only logs sessions where an email has been rejected after the DATA command (for example with a 550 this looks as SPAM)
c) SMTP (in…

Please add one option into Security Gateway for remote mail delivery
The MDaemon mail server has three options for remote mail delivery.
But Security Gateway just have two options, they are:
Always send all outbound email directly to the recipient's mail server
and
Always send every outbound email to the server specified belowWe need increase the option like Mdaemon mail server.
